Information we collect

We collect only what we need to operate JoyFund, keep the platform safe, and support donations and campaigns.

  • Account info: name, email, password (stored securely as a hash), and basic profile details you choose to provide.
  • Campaign info: information you submit to create and manage a campaign (title, story, images, goals, updates, etc.).
  • Usage info: device/browser information, pages visited, and interactions to help us improve the site.
  • Communications: messages you send to support or to other users (when applicable).

Note on payment details: JoyFund does not store full card numbers. Donations are processed by trusted payment providers.

Website analytics & usage data: JoyFund collects basic first-party usage information such as pages visited, browser type, device information, and referral sources to help us improve the platform.

We do not collect the contents of form fields, private messages, payment details, or any personal text entered into the site through this tracking.

How we use information

  • To create and manage accounts and authenticate users.
  • To publish and operate campaigns, and show campaign progress.
  • To communicate important updates (account, policy, security, platform changes).
  • To prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.
  • To improve the website experience and performance.

Payments & donations (Stripe)

Donations are processed via Stripe checkout. In general:

  • General donations (donate buttons not tied to a specific campaign) go to a general donation checkout.
  • Campaign donations go to a checkout session created specifically for that campaign.

Stripe may collect payment and device data needed to process transactions and prevent fraud. Please review Stripe’s policies for details.

When we share information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share limited information only when needed to:

  • Process payments and donations (e.g., Stripe).
  • Provide infrastructure and security services (hosting, monitoring, email delivery).
  • Comply with legal obligations or enforce our terms.
  • Protect JoyFund, our users, and the public from fraud or harm.

Data security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. No system is 100% secure, but we work to reduce risk and respond quickly to issues.

Your choices

  • Access/updates: you can update certain account details through your settings (where available).
  • Deletion: you may request deletion of your account or personal data by contacting us.
  • Cookies/analytics: you can manage cookies in your browser settings. Some features may not work without cookies.
