What We Do

JoyFund INC. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people improve their mental wellbeing through joyful, meaningful experiences. Instead of handing out money directly, we connect generosity with tangible experiences — things like attending a special event, participating in a workshop, enjoying a creative outing, or accessing other moments that can lift spirits and restore hope.

We provide a platform where individuals in need can have verified campaigns that allow donors to contribute safely, knowing that their support goes directly toward experiences that make a real difference in someone’s life. Every campaign is carefully reviewed to ensure authenticity, impact, and alignment with our mission of promoting mental health through joy.

Traditional mental health services — therapy, counseling, and medical care — are vital, but they are not always immediately accessible or sufficient on their own. JoyFund complements these systems by offering experience-based support that helps individuals:

  • Feel recognized, valued, and supported in times of difficulty
  • Reignite motivation and emotional resilience
  • Build connections with compassionate communities
  • Access opportunities for joy and personal growth

Our model prioritizes safety and integrity. We work directly with vendors, service providers, and organizers to ensure experiences are delivered as promised, and funds are never misused. This approach helps reduce stress for campaigners while giving donors confidence that their contributions truly matter.

Our Approach

Rather than handing out money directly, JoyFund supports real people by making meaningful moments possible — moments that remind someone they are seen, valued, and not alone.

Why It Matters

JoyFund is built on the principle that moments of joy can be transformative. Whether it’s a creative class, a small adventure, or an activity someone has always wanted to try, these experiences can create lasting emotional impact. Mental health challenges often come with isolation, stress, and a sense of being overlooked. By funding joyful experiences, JoyFund allows people to feel seen, supported, and empowered — a supplement to traditional mental health care that reminds them they are not alone. JoyFund INC. is not a medical organization and does not provide medical advice. Our focus is on creating safe, meaningful, and joy-centered experiences for those who need them most.

JoyFund INC. is not a medical professional organization and does not provide medical advice.

Meet the Founders

JoyFund was created by people who understand firsthand how powerful joy and connection can be in the healing journey.

Diana Marini

Diana Marini

Co-Founder / Vice President

After facing her fair share of mental health challenges, Diana developed a deep understanding of how difficult — and transformative — the healing journey can be. Those experiences inspired her to pursue a degree in psychology, where she is currently enrolled and focused on understanding human behavior, resilience, and emotional wellbeing.

To Diana, mental health treatment means more than clinical support — it means compassion, validation, and creating safe spaces where people feel heard and empowered. She believes healing includes connection, meaningful experiences, and the reminder that no one has to navigate difficult seasons alone.

Corey Shelowitz

Corey Shelowitz

Co-Founder / President

Corey’s personal experiences with mental health struggles shaped both his perspective and his purpose. Those challenges led him to begin studying psychology, driven by a desire to better understand the emotional barriers so many people quietly face.

For Corey, mental health support is not limited to therapy alone — it also includes restoring hope, rebuilding confidence, and reintroducing joy during difficult chapters of life. JoyFund was created from that belief: that meaningful experiences can complement traditional care and remind people they are valued, supported, and not forgotten.
