JoyFund INC. is a crowdfunding platform that helps individuals fund joyful, experience-based moments that support mental and emotional wellness.
No. JoyFund does not send cash directly to campaigners. When a campaign succeeds, JoyFund helps coordinate the experience and uses the funds raised to pay vendors directly (for example: tickets, lodging, classes, transportation, or other approved experience costs). This protects donors and reduces misuse.
Campaigns run for 60 days. After the end date, the campaign is marked as Expired and no longer accepts new donations. The campaign may remain visible for transparency and record-keeping.
When a campaign expires, donations are paused and the campaign is marked as Expired. You can still post updates, and the campaign may remain visible.
  • Donations pause after expiration.
  • Campaign stays visible (in most cases) for transparency.
  • Need more time? You can request a review for restoration (see next question).
Possibly. Restoration is not automatic. If your campaign expires and you'd like it reviewed for possible restoration, contact admin@fundasmile.net with your campaign title and reason for the request. Each request is reviewed case-by-case to protect donors and keep JoyFund fair and trustworthy.
JoyFund campaigns are for experience-based moments that support mental and emotional wellness — not buying things. Think “a meaningful moment that helps someone feel connected, hopeful, and grounded again.”

✅ What we DO fund (examples):

  • Reconnection & healing moments: visiting close family, attending a supportive life event, rebuilding connection after a hard season
  • Wellness experiences: guided retreats, mindfulness programs, yoga/wellness classes, structured self-care experiences
  • Growth & confidence-building: workshops, skill-building classes, creative programs, hobby-based community events
  • Community & belonging: support group events, positive community gatherings, mentorship meetups
  • Milestones that restore hope: a safe, meaningful celebration or experience tied to recovery or a fresh start
  • Basic travel costs for the experience: transportation or lodging directly related to the experience

🚫 What we DO NOT fund:

  • Cash withdrawals or “send money to me” style campaigns
  • Physical products (phones, gaming systems, clothes, furniture, etc.) unless required for a verified experience
  • Debt payoff (credit cards, loans, rent arrears, collections)
  • Illegal activity or anything that violates the law
  • Substances (alcohol, nicotine, recreational drugs)
  • Weapons or weapon-related items
  • Gambling or betting-related activity
  • Adult content or services
  • Medical care bills or clinical treatment costs

Why does JoyFund limit certain campaigns?
We exist to protect donors and campaigners alike. These guidelines help ensure that funds go toward meaningful, safe, and verifiable experiences — not purchases, cash transfers, or activities that could put anyone at risk. If you’re unsure whether your experience qualifies, contact us before submitting — we’re happy to help.

If a campaign doesn’t meet our guidelines, we’ll email you with the reason and suggestions to revise it. No campaigns are charged fees unless they’re approved and published.
Campaign goals represent intended funding targets, not conditions of acceptance. If a campaign does not reach its goal by the end date, JoyFund reviews what was raised to determine what’s feasible.
  • If feasible: JoyFund may coordinate a smaller approved version of the experience and pay vendors directly using the funds raised.
  • If not feasible: the campaign may be closed, and remaining funds will be handled according to our Terms (case-by-case based on vendor commitments, timing, and payment processing).
Donations are typically non-refundable once processed. Stripe processing fees are not refundable. Refunds may be considered only in cases of:
  • Duplicate transactions
  • Verified technical errors
  • Fraudulent activity
Refund requests must be submitted within 7 days to admin@fundasmile.net.
Anyone within the U.S. who is 18+ and seeking support for a positive, meaningful experience can start a campaign. Campaigns are reviewed for safety and trust.
Primarily for individuals, but group campaigns are allowed if clearly stated in the campaign description.
Visit the campaign you want to support and click “Donate.” Choose a preset amount or enter a custom one. If the campaign is Expired, donations will be paused.
The JoyFund Shop (also called the Spread Joy page) offers digital products and supporter resources that help fund and sustain the JoyFund platform. These purchases support platform hosting, campaign review systems, accessibility tools, outreach, and nonprofit preparation.
No. JoyFund Shop purchases are product transactions, not charitable donations. While they directly support the JoyFund mission, they are currently not tax-deductible. Eligible tax-deductible items will be clearly labeled once our nonprofit status is finalized.
Funds from Shop purchases help cover:
  • Platform hosting & security
  • Campaign review & safety systems
  • Accessibility & outreach improvements
  • Nonprofit infrastructure preparation
These purchases allow JoyFund to operate without placing the full burden on vulnerable campaigners.
Because most JoyFund Shop items are instant digital downloads, all sales are final. If you experience a technical issue accessing your product, contact admin@fundasmile.net and we will help resolve it.
The JoyFund Shop allows supporters to receive something meaningful in return while helping fund the mission. This approach keeps the platform sustainable without placing financial pressure on people who are already struggling.
At the moment, JoyFund INC. is a nonprofit project and is in the process of obtaining 501(c)(3) status. Donations are currently not tax-deductible. We will update the site if/when that changes.
No. JoyFund only collects basic anonymous website usage information such as pages visited, browser type, device information, and referral sources to help improve the platform.

We do not collect the contents of form fields, private messages, or any personal text entered into the site.
JoyFund focuses on experience-based moments that help people feel grounded, hopeful, and connected — not emergency cash requests. We also coordinate experiences and pay vendors directly to protect donors and reduce misuse.
JoyFund keeps fees transparent and simple. At checkout, all required fees — including Stripe processing — are incorporated so there are no surprises.
  • JoyFund platform fee: 6% sustainability fee supports operations, verification, and safety.
  • Secure payment processing: Stripe processing costs are covered so campaigns receive the full donation.
  • Optional tip: Donors may add an extra tip to further support JoyFund.

Example: If you want the campaign to receive exactly $100, your checkout total will be approximately $109.20:

  • Delivered to Campaign: $100.00
  • JoyFund Platform Fee (6%): $6.00
  • Secure Payment Processing: ~$3.20
  • Total Charged at Checkout: $109.20
A small processing fee may be added at checkout so JoyFund receives your intended donation amount.
